I agree with the other anon about Krueger being dropped is a result of the push towards the next generation. I think it should have been Dunn who was dropped before her, considering Dunn hasn’t played since the Olympics, but I expect she will be next. I even saw some woso creators whose opinion I generally respect say they don’t know if Rose will be able to work her way back into this lineup, which is crazy to me (I stand by a healthy Rose Lavelle being the best 10 we have) but at least kind of makes sense with the depth at the 10 we have, but there is no depth at outside back. At this point I’d start Gisele over nighswonger and she’s literally a baby

The Rose point is interesting and I do want to talk about that more. Emma has said this team has so many 10’s that they obviously can’t all play that position, and there are more who are fighting for that spot and not on this roster. Cat, Ally, Rose, Croix, Jae, Lindsey, Sanchez, are just my immediate few. Emma’s also said she wants two people who can play in each position depth wise. Does Emma prioritize players who are able to be consistently healthy (which also drops Cat and Croix out of contention)? Does she prioritize players who can/do also regularly play other positions like the 9 or wings to add additional depth there?

At this very moment, this early into the cycle, there are very few positions that I’d consider “locked” for 2027. Really it’s only the wings with Trinity and Soph, Foxy as OB, and Naomi as CB.

i gotta be honest man a lot of it is just vibes, and i'm certainly not going to act like i'm above having a petty dislike of someone, so huuuge grain of salt there for sure.

but also there have just been Things, y'know? after chelsea lost to arsenal in a cup final a few years back she threw her players under the bus and was like "well there was nothing i as a manager could have done" and "no one on my team played well today". that's not to say that it can't be true that the players just don't perform at a given time, but your literal job as the manager is to set things up to minimize that possibility and also, crucially, as the boss you're still as much to blame when the team fails as the players are. having had bosses in my own experience working who throw their juniors under the bus to keep themselves from looking bad, it just doesn't sit right with me.

also according to alex scott's book hayes pulled some fuckery that included outing scott and kelly smith. she insists on continuing to call up korbin albert, who's openly homophobic, and is just like well she's a tremendous person you know. like is she great at her job? sure, absolutely. does that mean im a fan? yeah. no.
